Chapter Games

Once per decade, Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes send their representatives to take part in a series of combat games. It is a chance to meet and celebrate with their farflung brethren… but most of all, to prove their skill at arms against the most worthy foe!

This is a more liberal new interpretation of the old Gaming League rules.

Army Selection

Forces may be chosen from these lists:

  • Codex: Space Marines
  • Codex: Blood Angels
  • Codex: Dark Angels
  • Codex: Space Wolves
  • Codex: Black Templars1

Armies may take up to 800 points, and use this force organisation chart:

  • 0-1 HQ – which must be a Captain if taken. (Or equivalent)
  • 0 Elites (yes, none! This event is for regular battle brothers to prove themselves; veterans do not take part in the games)
  • 1-3 Troops
  • 0-3 Fast Attack (no Vanguard Veterans – see above)
  • 0-2 Heavy Support

These additional restrictions apply:

  • Every non-vehicle model must wear power armour (3+ save).
  • Vehicles may not be taken, with the exception of Rhinos, Razorbacks and Drop Pods.
  • No named/Unique characters or units.

Missions

Missions follow the normal rules in the rulebook, with some exceptions. The recommended table size is 4′ × 4′.

Mission Objective

Roll a d6:

  • 1-2 Seize Ground – always use 3 objectives, and always place the first in the centre of the table.
  • 3-4 Capture and Control
  • 5-6 Annihilation

Scoring Units

All non-vehicle units count as Scoring.

Kill Points

Kill Points are counted per model instead of per unit.

  • Any model not mentioned below 1 point each.
  • Bike, Rhino or Drop Pod 2 points each.
  • Razorback, Attack Bike or HQ/Independent Character 3 points each.

Deployment

Roll a d6:

  • 1-2 Pitched Battle
  • 3-4 Spearhead
  • 5-6 Dawn of War (modified see below)

Dawn of War

Any one unit may start the game on the table. Otherwise as in the rulebook.

Questions TBD

  • Allow Death Company?
  • Allow armour 4+ i.e. Scouts?

1 Black Templars have a very limited force selection under these rules – you may want to use one of the other codexes.
